Basics of Filing Series Cont'd - When is a Filing Ready for Submission?
All forms requiring regulatory review should be included in the filing at time of submission. If a filer is aware of forms needed for a product filing and the forms are not yet ready at time of filing, a new submission will be required to submit the additional forms. Best practice to determine when a filing is ready for submission is when the filer can confirm all of the following:
- Form language and concepts are consistently used throughout the form.
- Form language is consistent with supporting documentation such as contract language consistent with actuarial memorandum language.
- Ranges provided in the statement of variability and actuarial memorandum are consistent.
- Ranges provided in the statement of variability and actuarial memorandum are realistic and reflect values the company intends to offer.
- Actuarial memorandum reflects finalized pricing and nonforfeiture values.
- Confirmation that all requirements under the applicable Uniform Standards have been satisfied in both the form(s) specifically, and the filing generally.
