For individual life and annuity filing memorandums that include nonforfeiture demonstrations, best practice is to include the demonstrations in Excel files instead of PDF files.  For validation purposes, make sure the demonstrations include the formulas in addition to values.  Providing the demonstrations in Excel format will facilitate review efficiency to more quickly test and validate demonstrations and calculations while reducing the potential for transcription or formatting errors associated with PDF versions of the demonstrations.  If an individual annuity filing memorandum has more than four (4) nonforfeiture demonstrations, the filer will be asked to submit the demonstrations as Excel files instead of PDF files.  Excel files are downloadable in the new SERFF platform as well as through SERFF Filing Access following approval.
