Spring 2023 Insurance Compact Webinars for Regulators

It’s back! Starting on March 30th, the Insurance Compact is pleased to offer a series of informational webinar sessions tailored specifically to those who are interested in learning more about the Compact. Listed below are the webinars that are offered throughout the falls. 

The webinars will have both an audio and a visual component. Most webinar sessions will be offered once at this time, but each session will be posted to the Collaboration Space for on-demand viewing after it concludes. Sessions are scheduled to last approximately either 30 or 60 minutes, including time for Q&A. If you or anyone else in your department is interested in participating in any of the upcoming webinars, please register with WebEx for each of the sessions you wish to attend. These webinars will be conducted via WebEx, and there is no cost associated with participation in these webinars.

March Sessions:
Open to All - Introduction to the Compact – This 60-minute session will cover basic information about the background, mission, purposes, structure, activities, and operations of the organization. This session is especially useful for those who are new or unfamiliar with Compact and its role as an arm of Compacting States.

April Sessions:
Open to AllCompact Origins – This 60-minute session will provide background on the creation of the Compact, updates on current issues, and sources of information for attendees to learn more about Compact‐approved products.

Regular-FocusedNavigating Compact Information – This 60-minute session will cover the communications that come from the Insurance Compact and where to find more basic information about the operations of the organization. Those who are new or not as familiar with the Compact and its role as an arm of Compacting States will find this session particularly useful.

Regulator-FocusedCollab Space Overview - An overview of the Compact's Collaboration Space will be provided during this 30-minute session. Regulators wanting to keep up on Compact’s regulatory and committee activities should attend.

Regulator-FocusedWorking through a Compact filing – in this 60-minute session, participants will shadow how our reviewers move through a Compact filing. This session is geared towards regulators working in the rate and form filing for the products within the scope of the Compact, as well as regulators interested in the mission critical work the Compact does as a trusted arm of the Compacting States. This session will have an actuarial component.

Regulator-FocusedCompact impact on regulator’s day-to-day – learn more about how the Insurance Compact can impact a day in the life of a state regulator. This session is 60 minutes and geared towards Department staff supporting the Compact’s committee activities, as well as working with products within the scope of the Compact.

Open to AllMix and Match – Information about the rules and process for mix and match will be covered in this 60-minute session. This session is geared toward rate & form filing regulators and market regulators who work with products within the scope of the Compact.

Open to AllCreating and Amending Uniform Standards - information on the different methods for uniform standards development and the rulemaking process as well as an overview of the Uniform Standards Development guidelines will be covered in this 60-minute session. This session is 60 minutes and geared towards Department staff supporting the Compact’s committee activities, including the Uniform Standards development process and working with products within the scope of the Compact.
