The Compact Office is excited to invite you to its first insurance product training program, the Life Insurance Product Training series! The program curriculum is a collection of targeted training sessions designed to support regulators in reviewing life insurance products. The Life Insurance Product Training series will use Compact Uniform Standards for reference purposes, but the content is focused on the aspects of life insurance products applicable for all rate and form regulators. Each session offers practical insights, real-world examples, and guidance on applying common regulatory product requirements, as well as learning the nuts and bolts of basic insurance forms and contracts. These sessions are intended for entry-level regulators, regulators not as familiar with life insurance product regulation, or anyone who would benefit from a refresher on life insurance product fundamentals and regulatory review practices.

This foundational session introduces the purpose of life insurance and the rationale for regulation. Learn how policies are structured, what provisions are commonly included, and introductory level form review using Uniform Standards as reference material.
