Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission Holds Annual Meeting and Election
DENVER, Co. (Nov. 16, 2024) – The Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (Insurance Compact) held its Annual Meeting in Denver, CO, on November 16. The Commission reelected Nebraska Department of Insurance Director Eric Dunning to serve as Chair, West Virginia Insurance Commissioner Allan L. McVey to serve as Vice Chair, and Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions Director Barbara Richardson to serve as Treasurer. Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation Director Elizabeth Kelleher Dwyer will continue to serve as Past Chair.
“We accomplished so much in 2024, most notably welcoming our 48th member, South Dakota, to the Commission,” said Director Dunning. “Next year, we will kick off a new strategic plan, working with our members and state legislators and engaging with consumer and industry representatives.”
“The Commission is investing in its operations with several new Uniform Standards, release of a redesigned filing platform, and creation of a dedicated regulatory affairs team,” said Commissioner McVey. “This coming year will be an exciting one for members and company filers as these changes are fully implemented.”
“We plan to continue the Compact Roundtable as a way to exchange ideas and perspectives on the Compact and promote continuous improvement,” said Director Richardson. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to explore ways to further enhance services for the members and efficiencies for states, the industry, and consumers.”
